My roommate and I were moving to NYC from the west coast and were only in the city for a week during the winter to look at apartments. We probably looked at 30 apartments during that week and found nothing truly livable! On our last day we were fortunate to meet Jack Friedman, an agent with GPS Realty. He was nice and informative and showed us an apartment that was exactly what we needed: a TRUE 2 bedroom, fully furnished, & a good Manhattan location. It was also great because it was a flexible temporary lease that allowed us to move into the city and get to know areas & the city before committing to a full year.
It's an unwritten rule for New Yorkers on the cheap to steer clear of
realty brokerages when searching for a place to call 'home'; however, JS
Carriage Realty is working to resolve that perception.
Though JS Carriage didn't help me locate my apartment (thanks Craigslist!), Andrew Y. and Eric have made sure I stay.
They've repaired every item on my wish list in a timely manner and
haven't raised the rent since first purchasing this previously
privately-owned complex which is virtually unprecedented for the area.
I moved out to New York just a few months ago and my roommate and I
needed a place to rent as soon as possible! Jack Friedman found us a
great place that was furnished, which made the transition so easy. He
was very easy to work with and the temporary/ short lease he offered us
was just what we needed.
Once we moved in until the end of our lease Eric Gladestein, Andrew
Yefanov, and Elena Barbu, and Indira were all very helpful! For example,
if a light bulb went out, they were there right away to fix it. We had
no issues with GPS Realty and would highly recommend using them to find
your place in New York. Give them a call and I'm sure they will be able
to find what you need.
My friends and I were looking for apartments in New York City. We had about a week to find something. I lived in the city before and dealt with other brokers and no one came close to being as professional and knowledgeable as Kevin. He made sure to find us the perfect apartment without pushing us to get something that we didn't like. I would recommend future individuals who are looking for an apartment in New York City to contact Kevin at GPS Realty I forwarded Kevin's information to several people already and I'll continue to do so. I'm primarily writing my review based on the customer service I received from Jack who rented my apartment and is extremely competent and responsive and Andrew who provides ongoing, amazing customer service. GPS has been extremely responsive in fixing my maintenance problems and always responds within 24 hours. Andrew always responds to my emails and calls right away with competent and professional feedback and takes all of my concerns seriously. He has resolved several pressing issues swiftly and with positive outcome.
Robin Iselin helped turn a potentially dire situation into a positive experience, and I couldn't be more grateful! Very streamlined and easy process, and I'm writing this review from the great pad she helped me score. A definite recommendation.
As good as it gets when it comes to renting apts in NYC.
I absolutely LOVED working with the team, especially Jack. Found a
great apt in the east village and for a reasonable price. He was
willing to show apartments around my schedule and find the perfect spot
to fit what I was looking for.
The rest of the office was relatively easy to work with to seal the
deal. The office replies to any maintenance issues or questions very
quickly and at any time of day/night.
Note - a friend worked with Rob and had an equally great experience finding the apt of her dreams in midtown.
Would highly recommend them.
I normally only post reviews for places where I can get some food...but
considering my new apt has a kitchen, I guess this counts :)
Jack helped me find an apt when I moved to the city (to be closer to the
many restaurants) w/o any hassle at all - he listened to what I needed,
offered some suggestions and voila! I was close to all my favorite city
places w/o a 2 hour commute.
I am taking off one star, because I wish my apt was a bit bigger and
there wouldn't be too much noise coming from outside - but I guess you
take the good with the bad.
next time I might ask for a quieter block, but overall I'm happy
